Why I do what I do
My father once told me, "When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail." As a family practitioner, he saw a lot of people coming in with aches and pains and hated just throwing pills at the problem, which was just a cover-up for the real problem.
Like father, like daughter. I quickly realized the value of non-medicinal solutions to people's pain, and threw myself into the world of complementary therapy. With every patient who comes to see me, I ask a lot of questions about where the pain is, what it feels like, does it travel, does it come and go...with those answers, I try to figure out what sorts of modalities would best work on the complaint.
Achy, throbbing pain? How about some heat to relax those muscles?
Sharp, stabbing pain? How about something cool to soothe the inflammation?
Pain that travels all over? How about some myofascial work?
With a variety of tools in my "tool box", I try to find out what works to get you better as fast as I can.
A little bit about me: hobbies, family, interests
When I'm not at work, I enjoy reading, cooking, trying my hand at knitting, listening to Japanese rock music, traveling, and cuddling up next to my dog Leah and my husband Huw. I also enjoy a good massage now and again...^_^
